I've always been infatuated with ballerinas. Their whole aura is beautiful... so lithe and light... long and lean... statuesque and strong... graceful and sweet.
In the midst of watching the 2010 Olympics, I was really impressed by Kim Yuna. Not because she's Korean, but because she has all the lovely, soft features of a ballerina I love. At the same time, put her on the ice and you can see why she's the world champ... she's so powerful yet fluid... not to mention, gorgeous!
Watching the competition, I also noticed some of the things the skaters were wearing... atrocious to say the least. C'mon girls, millions of people are watching you and you're wearing this???! and this?!?!
really? like forreal?
Now this is just wrong...
If I were to have it my way, I'd have all the girls wear J.Mendel's, Marchesa's, Alberta Ferretti's, Fendi's...
WHAT TO DO... WHAT TO DO... I can't seem to find the right bridesmaid dress.
Finding a wedding dress that was "the one" was a cinch, but finding bridesmaid dresses is the hardest thing ever. Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?!?
So we went to Saja... SOOO in love with the store! From the wallpaper to the displays to the brick walls to the one mirror they had, I loved it all. The clothes were just as nice. You would think we would find "the" dress... unfortunately, they didn't have a great color selection. booo~ came out with a necklace though hehe :)
Jenny Yoo was a little better... like I said, nobody can beat their colors. But this time, wasn't in love with their design.
All throughout shopping there was that nagging thought of, "what floral arrangement could work with this dress??"... I think that's what threw me off course the most.
Always seen separate and never put together until the day of the wedding, I decided to take matters into my own hands... Behold, the magic of Paint.
Personally, I like the last combo.
Alongside contemplating floral schemes and dresses, there was the thought of, "does this combo work with the overall ambiance of the wedding?"... more on that later.
Tomorrow my bridesmaids and I are going shopping for potential maid dresses. We're hittin up Saja in upper Nolita first. At first glance, I fell in love with their dresses... so feminine and ethereal. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with one by the end of the day. I just hope they have the right colors and fit the girls well.
LOVE THIS DRESS...
I'm picuring a crystal beaded belt around the waist... I think it would be the perfect match
It would match details from my wedding dress... (sneak peek)
Love this dress too...
I'm picturing a flower sash from jcrew on either one of these dresses.
After Saja, is Jenny Yoo. Her collection seems more demure and traditional. One perk - nobody can beat her color options.
My dream ensemble... I would loooooooOOOoooove to have the below for my gals.... *swooooon*
I would add this ^ to the ensemble for my Maid of Honor. =)
Well, wish us luck on Saturday. Hopefully we come out with a winner!
